Pedigree is so important when it comes to betting on the Breeders’ Cup. It stands to reason the sires with the most success are also always leading sires in their respective countries. Each year some of the best sires are represented by multiple runners in each of the 14 races
Legendary stallion Galileo (Ire), who himself was leading sire in Europe in 2008 and every year from 2011 to 2020, is a sire of sires, leading sire of broodmares and at the time of his death in mid-July of 2021 he had sired 338 stakes winners, 228 of which were group winners. In August 2018, his daughter Sizzling gave him his 328th European group race win to eclipse the record held by his own sire, Sadler's Wells. He also has sired 85 Grade/Group 1 winners worldwide.
It is no secret the standout stallion is listed as having sired multiple starters in a number of years over the course of the history of the Breeders’ Cup.
