Horseplayers take note: In 2024, more than 77% of the races on the New York Racing Association (NYRA) circuit will take place at Aqueduct Racetrack.
With Belmont Park undergoing massive renovations that likely won’t be completed for two more years, NYRA announced this week that it will conduct 195 racing days – 151 at Aqueduct and 44 at Saratoga Race Course.
Previously, NYRA announced that the Belmont Stakes – the final leg of the Triple Crown — would be held at Saratoga on June 8 (during four days of racing at the Spa from June 6-9).
There will be nine days without live racing following the May 29 Memorial Day card as NYRA shifts operations from downstate to upstate for the Belmont Stakes Racing Festival. Live racing then returns to the Big A on June 14.
