Lady Shipman, who was last seen costing me a trifecta by not getting up in time to win the Grade I Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint at Keeneland, is scheduled to make her 2016 debut in the Ladies’ Turf Sprint at Gulfstream Park.

Even though the Ladies’ Turf Sprint is ungraded, it drew a surprisingly respectable field, including Grade III winner Dogwood Trail and Grade II champion Stonetastic, who will be making just her second start on the lawn and her first in a grass sprint.

Still, the race runs through Lady Shipman, who has won eight of 12 lifetime and has never finished out of the money.
