‘Twas the day after Christmas and all ‘cross the land
Racing fans everywhere… rand… bland… tanned…
Oh, forget it. A poet I am not.
Suffice it to say that, after a light week of racing — with no racing at all on Christmas Day — fans of the Sport of Kings are ready to start getting serious again.
And with the Santa Anita Park Winter Meeting getting underway on Monday and the universal birthday of all racehorses on Sunday, I have a feeling I’m not the only one who has started thinking about the Kentucky Derby.
